Cortiq is a desktop application that runs on your own computer. By design, most of what you create in Cortiq — session content, trade history, AI keys, broker credentials, research, and chat content — stays on your device. This policy explains the limited data we handle and the optional desktop and mobile product analytics built into the app.

1. Who we are

Cortiq — the desktop app, the cortiq.trade website, and the licensing service at api.cortiq.trade — is operated by Decode The Trade EOOD, a company established in Bulgaria, which is the data controller for the personal data described here.

2. What we collect

  • Purchase details. When you buy a license, our payment processor collects your email and payment information. We receive your email and the order result — we never see or store your full card details.
  • License activation. To activate and verify your license, the app sends your activation key and a machine identifier to our licensing service. This is how a key is bound to up to two machines.
  • Support. If you email us, we keep that correspondence to help you.
  • Website analytics. The cortiq.trade site uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic. It may set analytics cookies; we don’t use it to identify you by name.
  • Optional desktop and mobile product analytics. When this service is enabled, Cortiq asks before sending anything. This is a separate choice on each device. If you opt in, the app can send limited, non-content events such as feature and screen names, workflow milestones, broad duration or count ranges, finite success or failure categories, app version, platform, and a random device identifier. A licensed installation may use an opaque random subject identifier so consenting devices can be analysed together. We do not send prompts, responses, reasoning, files, titles, research or artifact content, instruments, trading account, position, order, or trade values, credentials, license keys, machine identifiers, raw error or exception messages, stacks, paths, or domain record identifiers.

3. What stays on your device

Your session and chat content, strategies, trade history, research, support artifacts, AI provider keys, and MetaTrader 5 credentials are stored locally on your computer and are not included in product analytics. Cortiq connects to your MT5 terminal over a local bridge and to whichever AI provider you configure — we are not in the middle of those connections.

4. How we use what we collect

We use your information only to process your purchase, deliver and verify your license, respond to support requests, understand aggregate website usage, and, when you have opted in, understand which app workflows are useful or failing so we can improve Cortiq. We do not sell your data, and there is no marketing newsletter tied to your purchase.

5. Processors we rely on

  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Brevo — sending your activation-key email.
  • GitHub — hosting the app download.
  • Google Analytics — aggregate website traffic.
  • PostHog Cloud EU — processing optional app product analytics in the European Union when production capture is enabled.

6. Retention

We keep purchase and license records for as long as needed to support your license and to meet legal and accounting obligations. Support correspondence is kept only as long as it is useful. App product analytics is currently disabled in shipped production releases, so those releases send no desktop or mobile analytics events to the Cortiq Production project. Controlled pre-production validation may send invented, non-sensitive test events to a separate Cortiq Development project. Before enabling production capture, we will update this policy with the exact retention period verified for the active PostHog Cloud EU account.

7. Your rights

You can ask what personal data we hold about you, request a correction, or request deletion where we are not legally required to keep it. If product analytics is enabled, you can turn it off independently on each device and request deletion of analytics data that we can link to your opaque license subject. Pre-license events use only a random device identifier and may not be linkable to your email. Email us and we’ll handle it.
